Friend of the site Rusty WB4BSD has just joined the elite group of Hamsexy members who are also members of the thin, blue line – having just graduated from Police Academy.

Rusty recently left the tightly-constrained monotony of the US Navy for the not-so-tightly constrained monotony of policework.

We wish Rusty and his daughter all the best in their new life – and to tell us lots of good stories about escaped cows and people who done gone through that there stop sign up by the old Peterson place.

The Hamsexy Net is tonight!!

The net will begin at 9pm Eastern time, 6pm Pacific on IRLP Reflector 9008 and Echolink conference *VAN-IRLP*.

Net control will be Joe KD8ATU, who should have been writing this notice, but I’m a nice guy and will give him a pass (this time!).

The theme for the net will be announced at net time.

For those who are lacking access to Echolink or IRLP, the net will be broadcasted on the Warp Radio Network – listen to the stream and participate in the live chat. As well, stick around for the great tunes after the net.

Also… and I will be mentioning this during the net – we want to start a guerrilla campaign to spread the word about the net. If you live local to an IRLP-enabled repeater, put the repeater on node 9008 for the net! Even if you don’t use the repeater to access the net, dial it up! Help spread the word!!

Todd (KB3CGS), Dave (N3EJT), John (KA3LAO), and John’s dog Circe are making a run to the summit of Mt.Washington Sunday.  They’ll be on the air on 144.200ish and 432.100ish from around noon to 4pm.  Bonus points to someone if they can get John’s dog to bark on the air, and get a recording of it.

I picked up the net tonight and had nothing prepared, as it was not supposed to be my turn in the barrel. The turn out was light tonight, but we had a good little discussion about Skywarn and how effective we feel it may be or not in our area. Laura was finally able to join us on the net and she was a pretty good sport about be the sole representative from the female species. Bob had some way cool sound bytes to share in her honor.

We have absolutley no idea who set this up, and I’m flattered that someone decided to be pro-active, but at the same time I’m a little peeved that someone’s claiming to be us without actually *being* us.
