The Return of The Hamsexy HF Net

schlitzham1.jpg

Ok folks I am going to give this my best shot. On Thursday evening at 6pm central time we are going to take another run at a Hamsexy HF net. I will call QST for the Hamsexy net near 7.240 plus or minus any QRM. I was going to try 20 meters but the point was brought up that 20 has been dead in the evening. I hope you all can join in and have some fun. This net is for us to get to know other Hamsexy members and hopefully attract some new ones. If the net goes well and we get some check ins we will do it again the following Thursday. Ya I know the timing isn’t the best. I have an odd work schedule myself and this was the only time I could do it. If there is a better time or frequency for everyone let me know. Maybe I can work something out. I hope you can join in! 73 Mike KB0KMJ

20 meters is pretty much dead in the evening. May I suggest 40?

I’d love to do 20 during the day on the weekend though, if I can get this damned 20 meter antenna problem I have fixed. More on that later.

I’d love to participate but I’ve been working evenings lately. Next week I’ll try it since I’ll have Thursdays off.

I’d love to join, but I don’t have HF in my Jeep, and no HF at home.

I’d love to join in too, but 40m just won’t be open in the middle of the day. See you at Dayton instead.

Figures it would be at the very moment in time that I will actually be at work for the first time in over two weeks…. oh well. = (

That time of day is pretty rough on any HF band right now. 20 is just closing down but can stay open past grey line. Sometimes the opposite happens. 40 is always noisy and that is a bigger hindrance than band conditions some nights. The big BCs come in when the band opens up so 40 is actually better when it is closed. 75 has been very good for the last couple nights but can get wiped out for days on end with a high noise floor. Also not everyone has a 75 meter antenna.

Why not have a list of freqs on several bands that we can try and settle on the best one for the time? I can tell you that there is a ‘Teenage Net’ about that time on 75 and it is very workable.

A Hamsexy HF net can be done but may take a couple tries to get a band and a time that works bestest for the mostest.

I will try to see y’all there. And thanks to KMJ from this meager transmitting facility as well. I have been holding my breath for an HSHF net. In fact, I have been doing it for so long my desk turned blue.

All great suggestions and I will take note of them. Yes 75 may be a good option as well. I expect this to be a work in progress. Any other ideas please keep them coming.

    Drat!

I have a meeting to go to tonight about re-chargeable batteries. One I don’t want to miss. The meeting starts at 7pm EST….bummer.

    Next week for sure!

Good luck all and may the propagation be with you.
