Hi, Clyde! I just learned that you discussed my 2001 letter to Riley Hollywood in your Week 10 hamsexy.com archives. Wow, you must have been really hard up for material if you would so prominently feature a 3-year-old letter that is old news by now. Anyway, I'm sorry you did not like my letter because I'm a big fan of your site; however, I think perhaps you misunderstood its purpose. But rather than go into that, could I just ask you one question: if I am such a rule-breaker and poor operator as Riley claimed in his Warning Notice, and since I rather clearly told him to take his Warning Notice and stuff it (recalcitrant, huh?), why didn't he follow up on the Warning Notice by issuing an actual Notice of Violation or a Notice of Suspension? Don't you think if his charges were really true, and especially considering how unrepentent I obviously am, that it would have been rather important for Riley to make an example of me? I can tell that you really like Mr. Hollywood, but if you will please try to be impartial for a moment, can you explain to me how he can be such a good enforcement czar if he let a bad actor like me keep his license? And please don't tell me that I was just too unimportant to warrant any of his valuable time. If that were the case, then why did he issue the Warning Notice in the first place if he had no intention of pursuing it?

And Clyde, do you really approve of the "Star Chamber" tactic of Mr. Hollywood telling me that he had tapes of my transmissions, but that he was going to keep them secret from me, but that I nevertheless had to be entirely candid about my activities or he would charge me with a separate violation of the Communications Act? How was I supposed to be candid in my response when he kept the charges secret? I just can't believe that you approve of that kind of tactic, Clyde. If you do approve of it, then your entire claim to be cool and irr everent about ham radio is false because you really support all the old farts.
