A Hamsexy coorespondant at the recent Rally of the Tall Pines in Bancroft, Ontairo (way north of Toronto in Canada) sent us this photo of some Rally hamsexyness.

This hamsexy mobile is one of a kind! POS comes to mind, rusty junker
almost knackerd a few spectators more then once. The guy wasent
needed, but they let him run anyways, I guess they didnt want to hurt
his feelings? You only need two cars for opening/closing stages – the
other two vehicles where quality, unlike this hamsexy whacker.

Radio mounted to a small piece of plywood, sitting on back seat.
Light and siren, both of which are unnoticable, are direct to the
cigarette plug.

Plenty of bags, food and garbage to go around.

Take the time to notice the heavy rusting, the “Baby Quattro” sticker
on the rear, as well as the duct tape holding on the numbers. Ghey.

Help support our Dayton 2006 booth!!

We’ve reserved the same booth at Dayton 2006 we had last year (inside the hall, near the ARRL), but we need your help to pay for it. If you can help, paypal what you can to dayton2006@hamsexy.com. We will be keeping a list of all those who donated, and will be thanking them publicly. Help Hamsexy keep it’s controversial and always fun presence at the Dayton Hamfest!!

Also, we invite all Hamsexy friends in Southern Ontario and Upstate New York to join us in Toronto for our December Hamsexy North meet and drink! It’ll be your last chance to buy Bryan VE3HBD a beer or tell him what a fat loser he is before he moves to Asia in January.

When: Tudesday December 6th 2005 at 7pm
Where: The Foggy Dew Irish Pub, on King street west of Bathurst

Justin VE3UDP is working on possibly arranging our own room, but we need an idea of who is going to show up.

Please RSVP this thread if you want to come. We’re expecting hamsexy friends from across Canada and the USA to attend, and we’d like to see all local friends of Hamsexy there!

Things to be thankful for

Ham
We got this message from Mark K8MHZ today, and I felt it was prudent, considering it’s Thanksgiving and all. The repeater is yours, Mark….

Today is the day that everyone (mostly) gathers together to give thanks. The usual givings are for family, friends and health.

But if you are reading this, you also are part of ham radio, and think of what there is to be thankful for because of that.

We are part of the greatest hobby on the planet, the granddaddy of all hobbies.

A hobby that can put us across the mike from kings, queens, astronauts, teachers, diplomats, soldiers, engineers and just plain nice folks.

A hobby that provides us with life long friendships, friendships which are not restricted by distances.

A hobby that provides us with knowledge, both technical and interpersonal.

A hobby that provides us with experiences, like the one’s myself and Ken Groom, ZR5AAD have had at the Air Fair.

A hobby that gives us new names, we wear our call signs proud, and always include them in our introductions to new hams.

A hobby that can teach us a way to communicate with one and other without the use of voice, regardless of language, even regardless of the ability to see or hear.

A hobby steeped in tradition, yet thriving upon technology allowing folks that cherish the old and embrace the new to work together heading in opposite directions.

A hobby that puts the young and the old on the same level, both happy to be there.

A hobby to be proud of, a hobby we bring our children into with pride.

A hobby consisting of the finest people in the world, both as grandiose and as fragile as the environment.

A hobby to be nurtured and protected so that we may leave it in better shape than how we found it.

Thank you all for being part of my hobby,

73 OMs and YLs de Mark K8MHZ

Hamsexy Motorcycle

Our friend from the Hamsexy Net KD7LVX submitted these photos of his very Hamsexy Motorcycle, the Hamsexy WhiteWing.

A beautiful bike, he’s outfitted this late model Honda Goldwing with some pretty Hamsexy gear. He’s got a Delphi XM Satellite radio, a radar detector, a GPS and a Motorola MTX 9250 (The Las Vegas Superstation is a 900 MHz repeater, dontcha know)

Steven’s checked into the net a few times while mobile on the bike, the quality sounds so good I had to be reminded he was checking in while on the open highway.

While I would never think of doing anything Ham Radio related while on my motorcycle, Steve proves that it’s not only possible, it can sound good too!!
