Yep , Unskilled hams with tools are a powerfully destructive force . Seen a lot of otherwise nice old pieces of classic gear trashed by hams with drills . Eager to demonstrate their ineptitude in the metalworking arts ,many unskilled hams will gleefully drill , punch ,snip and hacksaw unwittingly into anything at any time . In fact , fixing a hamhole in an old Toyota, Honda or Subaru is hardly worth the effort anyhow .

I understand most of this and I agree to some. I also chase storms. I generally work with another friend. Both of us Hams. He has 20 years experience. We use a small teardrop shaped yellow light. I usually only use it when I pull over in a low vis situation. We relay important info to the weather service of Cleveland. Also I carry a chainsaw, a pair of railroad jacks, straps and chains to help clear roads and remove trees. I have stopped chasing several times to help people in need. That’s why some of us chase. I love these shitmobiles, especially the wasted econoboxes with the 5 zillion antennas and probably duel alternators to run all that crap (though they have to put the pedal on the floor to keep three radios going.)
